History of data mining in physics from Kepler to Max Planck.

(2024) 31 Jan., The 6th Iranian Conference on Computational Physics, Iran. IUT.

Abstract

Data mining methods have always played an effective role for human understanding of nature. In this study, several cases of data mining in physics and its prominent role for creating physical laws are mentioned first. Then, by mentioning a practical example of black body radiation data, it is shown that nowadays machine learning methods are considered as one of the powerful data mining tools.

Keywords: Data mining, black body radiation, CatBoost algorithm
