Investigation of Magnetic Properties of YBCO Superconductors Doped with Bi

Abstract
In the present study, YBCO superconductors, with substitution of Bi3+ for the Y3+ site, with the impurity content of 0 to 20%, were prepared by the standard solid state reaction method. The temperature dependence of AC magnetic susceptibility measurements of the samples revealed a decrease in superconducting transition temperature, Tc, by increasing Bi3+ doping in Y1-XBiXBa2Cu3O7- compound. This decrease in Tc continues with an increase in Bi doping. Furthermore, the clear decreasing of Tc even for low amount of Bi doping (5%) for Y shows that Bi has been entered in the crystal structure of the compound.
